Thetanh() andtanhf() functions compute the hyperbolic tangent ofx. For a discussion of error due to roundoff, see math(3).RETURN VALUES

Upon successful completion, these functions return the hyperbolic tangent value. The following may also occur: 1. Ifxis ± 0,xis returned. 2. IfxisNaN, aNaNis returned. 3. Ifxis positive infinity, a value 1 is returned; ifxis neg- ative infinity, -1 is returned. 4. Ifxis subnormal, a range error can occur andxis returned.SEE ALSO
