CONS(4) NetBSD/hp300 Kernel Interfaces Manual CONS(4)
NAME
cons -- HP300 console interface
DESCRIPTION
This release supports a ``virtual'' console device used for kernel printf messages and accessed in user mode via /dev/console. It is virtual in the sense that it is attached to a hardware interface at boot time. Cur- rently the choices are limited to: a bit-mapped display acting as an internal terminal emulator ``ITE'', the builtin serial interface com(4), or a null(4) console in that order.
